WWE Royal Rumble 2021 from inside the WWE ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida is set for January 31, 2021. For spoilers and updates on the event card, lineup of matches and pay-per-view news, follow here.
My projections for the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble PPV are as follows. Check back for the result prediction of Royal Rumble 2021 and revisit coverage here when the time comes to partake in the WWE Royal Rumble Drinking Game while enjoying this match, too!
Let’s take a look at how this year will shake out the full match card and try our hand at forecasting the outcomes of each match, including the recently scheduled men’s world title matches.
30-Men’s Royal Rumble Match:
Honestly, I figured that after coming out at 27 or so, Goldberg was sure to win. Now that Drew McIntyre is being questioned, that takes him out of the equation.
This then goes back to my 2nd pick, which is Daniel Bryan. It’s a shame that Bryan won’t be around to enjoy a Royal Rumble triumph in front of an audience if that happens. Nonetheless, if it were today, he did not have the pop he would have gotten in 2014/2015, anyway. There’s no better choice than Bryan to battle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, because he’s the right choice for that situation.
30-Women’s Royal Rumble Match:
If WWE doesn’t put the Raw Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair, I’ll be surprised. Then they NEED to have Rhea Ripley win the Royal Rumble and defeat Flair at WrestleMania if they do so. An option would be to win Bianca Belair to try to conquer the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, but I’d rather, at least, give Ripley, who wants it most, this particular victory. Belair is awesome, so I suggest they can win the Elimination Chamber for her.
Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode (c) vs. the SmackDown Tag Team Titles’ Street Profits
I have a feeling that lately, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode won the SmackDown Tag titles only to send them back to the Royal Rumble PPV. For Ziggler and Roode, there is only one potential feud, and that’s one with the Mysterio Family, who have yet to become a true tag team. And maybe they’ll never become one.
The true long-term WrestleMania season game here is the Income vs. The Usos-Jimmy is supposed to return soon-at WrestleMania 37. That’s a dream match and, in the short-term future, the only tag title match I care about. In the ring, Ziggler and Roode are fine, but there is nothing persuasive in WWE Royal Rumble 2021 for either of them.
Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Riddle for the Championship of the United States
Bobby Lashley and Riddle have been at it for weeks, and I’m still not sure that Lashley was pinned by Riddle. Like, if you’re going to get someone in THE Bobby Lashley, make it worth our damn time to someone and do it in a game that still has stakes-not an episode of a TV show that very few of us really care to watch live.
It all looks like WWE is setting up a contest between Riddle and Lashley at the WWE Royal Rumble 2021. WWE is struggling with sagging ratings, so their solution is to book Riddle prominently in spite of the fact that the guy is a charm hole who doesn’t fit on the screen with such dignitaries as Lashley and MVP.
Championship Match for Women’s Tag Team: Asuka and Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler
“never mind, let’s put the titles back on the people we gave them to before”Never mind, let’s put the titles back on me on the entities we gave them before. In the last few weeks, they’ve rarely had Asuka and Flair together. None of it looked like a true championship reign, and these two can’t keep keeping the titles with Mania coming up. Normally, instead of pay-per-view, I would imagine the titles would change hands on Monday Night Raw, but with this being announced, I suppose it’s only happening here instead.
