In a tables match, putting your opponent through a table is the only way to win. The only way to win is to climb the ladder and reclaim the item above the ring. In a match for chairs, pinfall or submission in the ring is the only way to win, while using a chair as a legal weapon. The same rules apply in a WWE TLC match like a ladder match, but it is also possible to use tables and chairs.
